Accessible Art Fair, Warsaw 2019. Who said that the art and original works of contemporary artists are reserved only for the richest? The organizers of the upcoming fair want to strongly break this stereotype. During the 2nd edition of this event, you can buy various types of works from renowned artists for PLN 50.
Art can be for everyone
The buying of original works of art is usually associated with wealth and big price tags. Ewa Mierzejewska and Lena Szwed-Strużyńska – organizers of the Accessible Art Fair (TSD) – are trying to fight this stereotype. They want to show that art can be for everyone, regardless of social status and wallet thickness. The first March edition of the fair was a huge success. Only in one weekend TSD accumulated 3.5 thousand. visitors who bought 900 works of art from 80 artists. The assumption was simple – no image can cost more than 5,000. zł. It will be no different now, during the next edition. According to the organizers, the prices of works of art will start from just 50 PLN.
Accessible Art Fairs are not only distinguished by affordable prices. If we decide to buy one of the works, we are guaranteed the possibility of packing and picking it up on the spot. Importantly – exhibitors specialize exclusively in contemporary art. However, this does not mean that the work is of the same nature. We will certainly see various genres and forms of art in its broad sense.
What to expect?
During the upcoming Accessible Art Fair, over 30 companies and galleries as well as nearly 100 independent artists from Poland and abroad will exhibit their works. Among them we can mention, among others Brain Damage Gallery in Lublin – the first gallery in Poland (and one of the first in the world) dedicated to graffiti and its evolution. An equally interesting point on the list of exhibitors is Michał Żytniak, an artist from Częstochowa. He inherited his talent from his father, who was also a painter. Żytniak’s works have gained the recognition of business people. The works under his hand gather, among others, actresses: Julia Wieniawa or Magdalena Schejbal, rappers: Oskar from the PRO8L3M and RAU formations, as well as youtubers and influences: Maciej Dąbrowski (Człowiek Warga) and Michał Wilczewski (Wujaszek Liestyle).
In addition, guests of the event can count on an interesting program of artistic meetings: lectures, shows and discussions. Specialists will deal with issues such as:
- Street art stars. What names are worth investing in today?
- How and where to buy works of art? Tips for beginner collectors.
- How to display works of art at home?
- Can art heal the soul? Basics of knowledge about art therapy.
- Workshop graphics, digital graphics, printouts – what really is graphic art in the artistic sense?
