Carrefour is planning to remove all plastic carrier bags from their Warsaw stores. The network will replace them with 100% cotton packaging. Within a few weeks they will appear in all smaller store and the larger supermarkets of the chain.
The Carrefour network introduces reusable packaging in place of plastic bags. You will be able to find them at fruit and vegetable stands in all chain stores. They are to be a convenient solution for customers who have forgotten their own bags.
Significantly reducing the use of disposable plastic bags is a goal that we want to achieve together with customers for the benefit of our planet. We introduced this solution in November in the Carrefour Bio store. We see that customers are willing to use it and contribute to the fight against disposable plastic.says Barbara Kowalska, Quality and Sustainable Development Director at Carrefour Polska.
Poland is the fourth country in which the concept of these stores will be developed. Currently, purchases in Carrefour BIO stores can be made in France, Belgium and Spain.
