For over 80,000 inhabitants of the Łódź Province it was a very good year. They earned at least 7.100 a month PLN gross, there are also millionaires in this group.
Good economic situation, low unemployment and rising wages translate into an increase in the number of affluent and rich Poles. KPMG employees came to this conclusion, who prepared the report “The Luxury Goods Market in Poland”. They defined three categories of wealth in it.
The report distinguishes well-earning people, i.e. over 7.1000 PLN gross monthly, rich (earnings above PLN 20,000 per month) and very rich (earnings above PLN 50,000 per month). Millionaires are a separate category, i.e. people with an annual income of over PLN 1 million. This is data for 2018.
– 2018 turned out to be very economically good for Poland – says Andrzej Marczak, partner at KPMG in Poland. – The second highest GDP growth in the EU, low unemployment and dynamically rising wages have contributed to the expansion of the group of high-earners by almost 20 percent. It has over 1.4 million people, and this year it may rise to 1.58 million people.
Last year, 80,000 lived in the Łódź Voivodeship people who have at least 7.1000 at their disposal PLN gross. Their total income exceeded PLN 17.8 billion. There are 13,300 in the ‘rich people’ group, whose total income is almost PLN 8.7 billion.
4,200 people are very rich in our region. They have PLN 5.5 billion at their disposal. The list of millionaires has exceeded 2,000, and the millionaires from our province have a total of over PLN 4 billion.
Also thanks to these people the luxury goods market in Poland is growing. It is made up of, among others cars, hotel and SPA services, jewelry, as well as clothes, cosmetics, watches and high-end alcohol. Calculations by KPMG show that this year the value of the luxury goods market in Poland may amount to over PLN 25 billion. This is an increase of 5.4 percent. compared to 2018. In 2024, this market is to be worth PLN 38 billion.
