Jaguar Beata from the Warsaw Zoo has passed away. The animal died on January 16 at approx. 12.50. In 2019, she was chosen the most beautiful cat in the Warsaw Zoo.
The animal was born in the Czech Republic and ended up in the Warsaw Zoological Garden in 2004. Then she was a young and energetic cat. Together with her partner, Kalim, she had 7 young and 4 grandchildren.
According to zoo employees, Beata’s condition has been slowly deteriorating over the weeks. Despite the efforts of caregivers and the doctors’ effort, she was getting weaker every day, and more of her organs stopped working.
Jaguars are associated with the Polonia Warszawa sports club. It was their supporters who adopted the animal in 2004, naming her Beata Konwiktorska VI. “The animal enjoyed incredible popularity. In 2019, in the vote of Internet users, Beata was chosen the most beautiful cat in the Warsaw zoo,” quotes the Polonia website.
Beata confirmed her love for football when we asked her to predict the result of the Poland – Colombia meeting at the 2018 World Cup. Beata pointed to a draw, and her partner Kali helped the selection too:
