The Mayor of Krakow, Jacek Majchrowski, announced that he had asked his the City Guard, to take electric scooters that have been abandoned on the sidewalks, alleys, green areas to find lost property office. After elections to the new state authorities, the president will also propose legal changes that will create regulations regarding the use of scooters.
Abandoned scooters are treated as abandoned items. I asked the municipal services to collect such abandoned scooters and transport them to the lost property office
said the Mayor of Krakow Jacek Majchrowski. He noted that companies to which electric scooters belong cannot therefore claim that their equipment has been misappropriated, because it will be possible to collect it in the lost property office.
President Majchrowski also added that he intends to meet representatives of five companies renting electric scooters in Krakow to discuss with them problems related to this mode of transport in the city. It is not only about the fact that these types of devices are blocking streets or pavements. President Majchrowski reminded that the appearance of electric scooters is also associated with an increase in traffic accidents.
Therefore, the Krakow authorities are still waiting for legal changes that will allow to regulate the rules regarding the use of scooters. The president also announced that he would present specific solutions to new parliamentarians from Krakow. – There are countries where scooters are registered, they have registration numbers – said President Majchrowski.
