In the tender procedure, one offer was received for the supply of 21 pieces of electric multiple units with a seven-year maintenance period. It was submitted by Newag. The domestic producer would like to receive 667 million PLN for his services. The amount that the capital carrier intended to spend on the contract is 779 million PLN. This means that the offer is included in the cost estimate.
The winner of the tender will be required to provide 15 trains with a length of 85 to 95 meters and six trains with a length of 70 to 77 meters. Their duties will also include providing a 48-month warranty on each vehicle and their maintenance for seven years. In this respect, the manufacturer will also be required to perform periodic inspections of all trains and to train employees of Warsaw SKM in their operation.
Each of the new trains will be air-conditioned and adapted to the needs of people with disabilities, including people with reduced mobility. In addition, monitoring, a modern passenger information system, ticket vending machines, Wi-Fi, USB chargers and the AED defibrillator will be on board of each vehicle. All vehicles should reach SKM no later than November 30, 2022. The trains will be used to service existing SKM connections, but also to launch new lines.
