For the eighth time, the royal residences: the Royal Łazienki Museum, the Royal Castle in Warsaw – the Museum, the Wawel Royal Castle and the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace in Wilanów invite you to “Free November”. This year’s campaign takes place under the slogan “Royal splendor”.
Royal Łazienki Museum
Łazienki Królewskie, from November 3 to 30, 2019, you will be able to visit the Palace on the Island with the Royal Picture Gallery and royal apartments free of charge; Old Orangery with the Royal Theater, Royal Sculpture Gallery and Polish Sculpture Gallery; Myślewicki Palace with apartments of priest Józef Poniatowski and the Museum of Hunting and Riding with permanent exhibitions, such as: a Polish hunting salon from the 19th and 20th centuries, forest animals, birds and exotic trophies.
The facilities will be open from Tuesday to Thursday between 10.00-16.00, on Friday from 10.00-18.00, and from Saturday to Sunday from 10.00-16.00. Free tickets should be collected at museum ticket offices or directly at the facilities.
Museum of King Jan III’s Palace in Wilanów
This year, as part of the “Free November” campaign, the Museum in Wilanów invites you to view the Marshal’s Apartments Lubomirska, Chinese and Hunting Rooms as well as Galeria Magazyn.
This year’s action also includes visiting palace gardens and the temporary exhibition of the Armenian Cathedral in Lviv and its creators in the Orangery, to which free admission is valid from 9.00-15.00.
The museum will also organize educational walks Small pleasures.
“During the walk, we will suggest, for example, how to prepare a relaxing bath in the style of Izabela Lubomirska, the owner of an unusual bathing pavilion in the Wilanów Palace. We will also be inspired by eighteenth-century portraits to make a selfie that we will finally be satisfied with.”Event organizers.
The walk will take place on 9, 10, 11.16, 17, 23, 24, 30 November 2019 at 11.00, 13.00.
Volunteers can also take part in a series of workshops on unusual writing furniture.
This year you will be able to visit the permanent ones free of charge, including Royal Apartments with the Great Hall (Ball Room), Bedroom, Canaletta Room, Senator’s Room, Matejkowski Rooms and temporary exhibition of Polish Kings. Images of rulers on coins and medals, enabling the tracing of the fascinating evolution of the royal portrait – from the Middle Ages (Piast coins of Bolesław the Brave, Bolesław Śmiał or Władysław Łokietek) through a series made for Stanisław August based on the famous portraits of the kings from the Marble Room, painted by Marcell Baccia Republic.
In the second half of November, you will be able to visit the Royal Library for free – the only surviving original fire from the war interior, the Prison Cellar and the Gallery of Painting, Sculpture and Decorative Art.
The organizers also invite you to visit the multimedia exhibition Destruction and reconstruction of the Royal Castle (admission based on the entrance to the Castle), the Apartment of Prince Józef Poniatowski and the exhibition of eastern rugs from the collection of the Teresa Sahakian Foundation in the Palace Under the Blach (tickets are issued in the palace hall).
Additional attractions that the Royal Castle is preparing as part of the action will include the Puzzle Room organized in the Courtyard of the Grand Castle in a stylized tent. It will be available from November 14-21.
